not bad.

the texts/graphics are alright for this type of game. questions are very creative, original, and unpredictable, which makes the player willing to continue with the game each time he answers the questions correctly. you played with words in a majority of the questions and to answer the questions correctly, players need to think outside the box and search for hidden meanings behind. while the answers may not be immediately obvious, it is possible to figure out the right answer without having to make a lot of guesses. (which makes it hard, but not totally impossible to answer on the first try)therefore, checkpoints should be placed further apart from one another(for example, every 15 or 20 questions or so, instead of just 7) to discourage blind guessing. in this way, players will become more involved in the game.
you also need some background music. it is rather dull to spend the time figuring out the answers to each question without having something refreshing to listen to.
that was a good demo. look forward to the full version.

a good time waster

pros: both the graphics is excellent and attractive. the motion of each cube and special items are smooth, which makes the game more appealing. the backgroud music suits the game perfectly too. as most levels require only a couple of clicks to complete, the game serves as a perfect time waster for those who are bored and are just looking for quick entertainment without much thinking and concentration. and can be quite additive at later levels as it is rewarding to see hundreds of cubes being destoryed at a few clicks.

cons: the bombs are overpowered, and this makes the game far too easy to complete. when i played the game for the first time, i completed most levels without even buying any upgrades. you should reduce the overall power of bombs at the beginning. moreover, the learning curve is not very well designed. some of the levels are easier than the previous ones and yuou should try to make sure the game gets progresively harder with each level unlocked.

overall, apart from the difficulty setting, this game has an attractive layout and is both rewarding and addicting. good job.

good effort, but needs more polishing.

although quizzes bases games were done before, this is the first time i've played an online quizzes which requires players to type in answers instead of selecting the answer from a list of options. which is quite innovative in my opinion. however, this type of input is not particulary suitable for this game because most of the answers consists of terms that are quite lengthy. one can easily lose points due to a typo which he/she is not aware of.
also, at times, it is quite difficult to read the characters. for example, when i was half way though, i had to spend some time to distinguish between the letter "n" and the letter "u". so, i think you should use a different font which can be read by the players easily.
at the end, the player should be graded based on their scores. some secrets (which can only be unlocked when a particular score is reached) may be added as well.

addicting

while the game may seem difficult to start with, this game is easy to master once you get the hang of it. the simple controls and short duration of each game encourages the player to beat his high score each time he loses, there is certainly a replay value to it once you got everything figured out.
however, you needed to add some instructions at the menu. i took me one or two retries to figure out how the game actually works. you can't expect a player to know beforehand how to jump over lava and to knock the boulders back in order to survive. also, there is an element of luck to the game. sometimes it is impossible to collect all the gems without missing a few. therefore, you need to add a system which tells you where the gems will appear just before you actually see them. this can help reduce the effect of luck in this game.
for those who got frustruated, try to stay in the middle thoughtout the game to shorten the average distance from the gems. focus on the bottom of the screen.

fun

it never ceased to entertain me. and i like the idea of putting several mini-games into a single flash. although some of the ideas have been done before, it never loses its originality because of the fact that you've successfully incorprated materials in the movie with the mini-games. you have created an element of surprise and this game makes its players hunger for more.
and in case you wonder, the highest rank you can achieve is 'extreme death skater', which is at 350000 points. after 400000 points or so, you'll start getting messages like 'stop playing' , 'you're just showing off' and 'nobody is impressed' and things like that. i finally decided to quit at 450000 points. (which proves how addicting the game can be!)took me a full 15 minutes and a great deal of concentration to actually get that far though.

very challenging indeed...

this game is very addicting and i've been playing this for hours on end. unlike most games on newgrounds, this game requires a very high degree of concentration and a great deal of preserverance. it's very demanding and can sometimes be very frustrating, especially when you got to the fourth level. but each time you completed a level, you feel the need to move on to the next until you've finfished the game because you really experienced a sense of accomplishment after all the hard work, and you longed for more. i liked the idea of giving each level a specific theme. it makes the game more interesting to play through and less repetitive. although the graphics and sound are not the top notch, i can tell you've put in a lot of effort. however, you really need a quality button. the game runs pretty slowly on my computer, and i hate that.

but i got stuck at level 5.2.. i can't open the door at the bottom (which wasn't locked by the way) no matter how many times i tried. dunno if that's a bug or something. i looked for an alternative route tried to move my way past the obstacles but i kept bouncing off them and fell to my death... is that supposed to happen at all?

masterpiece

you've done a really good job on this. this game is very well programmed and the graphics and animation in this game is almost unmatched. but i suggest you considering working on a less difficult version as most of the reviewers, including me, found it too demanding and pracitcally impossible to move on to the next level (since you have to complete a level on both medium and hard modes). it's too frustrating and it has taken me at 10 minutes to unlock a new weapon. you have to be very accurate and to avoid using up all your ammulation at the first few levels as reloading would result in certain failure.
the learning curve is ridiculously steep and there's no room for error. upon completion of a level (mostly out of pure luck), i feel physically cramped and lose the interest in attempting to proceed to the next level.
although some of the comments other reviewers gave you are rather insulting, they brings out a point: THE DIFFICULTY HAS TO BE REDONE. and that has to be taken into cosideration of.

there's something wrong with the script

---- DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THE GAME----
you need to look at 4 symbols, read all 3 books, then go to cellar and finally interact with gwen. you won't be able to have access to underground tunnels if you don't follow the order. that's probably the only glitch i've found.

use the tab button on your keyboard to help you locate clickable objects if you find the background too dark.

the eerie silence and the darkness are the two major components which scare you most. you'll feel the tension beginning to build up as you explore deeper into the unknown. kinda makes you feel like screaming out loud even without the nasty sound effects (heavy breathing, as in The Ugly), which gets extremely irritating after a while. nice intro too. i know your next installment will be even better. (maybe with a larger interface, or puzzles to keep us occupied?) can't wait for the sequel.

addictive

i found it difficult to switch between four colours at first, (very frustating indeed), but i started to get the hang of it after several attempts. i got 576 for the high-score mode. the trick is to stay focus at all times. and with enough practice, you can change colours and pass through the obstacles without thinking.
up for a challenge? toggle to low quality and see how well you can do.

addictive

a game packed with action and adventure. this is a first person shooter which does not only focus on shooting. the game is highly enjoyable, and it never lost its appeal and interactivity. the background music fitted in very well. but i got stuck when im 14% through. i kept moving about after the spike had fallen on top of him. and nothing happened. except the giant monster kept coming back to life again, and the health bar remained at the same level. i 'killed' it the times over, and still haven't figured the way out. is that part of the game?
